Solar air heaters work by circulating air from your home through a collector on the exterior wall where it can gain up to 30 degrees before being vented back into the room. These approx 4'x 8' collectors are generally black (to absorb sun) and should be mounted on a sunny south facing wall or roof. Two 4-5" holes are required to be drilled through the exterior wall to accomodate the intake and exhaust ducts. These solar air heaters are used to supplement an existing home heating system and can save up to 30% on home heating costs annually.
